Even the Jersey shore has an interesting history. Many people have no idea that Sandy Hook, now a beach frequented by the Jersey masses, served as an active military base and proving grounds for munitions. Today, it is still host to a Coast Guard base and many of the buildings from Sandy Hook’s days as a military installation can still be seen.
The bunker in this image is right along the waterfront, but most people don’t even notice it.
