First Family Portrait

About a week ago, I had the opportunity to work with Peter, Mary and Mike. They’re a great family. Just wonderful people.

One of the first things Mary said to me upon arrival was something to the effect of “This is our first time.” I responded “Mine too!”

Of course Mary knew that wasn’t true, but it got the session off to a fun start and things stayed that way throughout the shoot. Honestly, you’d have never known that this was their first family portrait session. They were so relaxed in front of the camera that you’d have thought they did this all the time!

Something that occurred to me, almost too late, is the love that father and son share for things with wheels that go fast. And they have the rides to prove it. So at the last minute I sent a message asking if they could bring their cars. I’m so glad I did. The cars (and motorcycles, too!) are a big part of their lives. They needed to be there.

The shoot was a lot of fun. Peter, Mary and Mike were very open to different types of shots and were more than happy to ham it up. Like I said, you would have never known that this was their first family portrait session.

Here are a few of my favorite shots from our shoot.
