For the past two years, I’ve done a photo a day as part of my personal projects. It was fun, but in 2013 I felt the need for a change.
This year, my personal project is?“52 Portraits”. 52 individuals, a portrait posted once a week. The intent is to mix it up a bit, try new things and have some fun while I learn about my subjects and in some cases, catch up with them after having not seen them for many years. One of the things I love about portraiture, is capturing not only a moment, but the personality of the person on the other side of the lens. And that’s why these shots will be part of the “52 Portrait” blog, instead of in my portfolio. Some of them may not be the most technically correct, or best photos I take from a stand point of appearance. But in each photo, it will be something I feel best represents that person, as I know them. In some cases, the subject(s) may be strangers to me. Those will be the most fun, while I get to know them.
I’m really looking forward to what this project brings. Hopefully, you will enjoy it, too.
Wishing you the best in 2013 and for many more years beyond that!
